EPA’s latest power grab: Wage garnishment #tcot #teaparty

This, from WND:

EPA’s latest power grab: Wage garnishment.

The meeting that she is talking about is the same that gave us Agenda 21.  This also shows why  – while I am a staunch supporter of conservation – I am extremely opposed to environmentalism.  The former is man being responsible for taking care of our home.  The latter is the cloak behind which the most evil political agenda in history is hiding.

NOW Calls on Obama to Sign Executive Order Enforcing Contraception Mandate #tcot

Another story that’s just hard to believe…

NOW Calls on Obama to Sign Executive Order Enforcing Contraception Mandate – Katie Pavlich.

I’m confused.  If a law passed following due process is deemed an unconstitutional violation of rights, how in the world is re-issuing it as an executive order make it suddenly legal?!?

If nothing, it is even LESS legal as it could be seen as a violation of the separation of powers.

Archie Killed While Saving Gay Friend #tcot #2A

Honestly?  I didn’t know anyone even read Archie anymore.   Sure, you still see the digests in the supermarket checkout, but the actual comic?  Go figure.  I had heard rumor of this, but didn’t know for sure if it was going to happen.

A Yank-Aussie Contrast on Guns

bangThis is a short exchange I had with a friend in Australia regarding guns and violence.  It is a “live” conversation, so I’m expecting to see additional exchanges in it.  However, my response is really a nice little commentary on the American position on guns – something which to a large degree crosses party lines.  It’s a conversation worth sharing.

Just to set context, Otto’s comment is based on some statistics I had posted on Chicago’s high homicide rate.  My wife had seen numbers that grossly inflated the already ridiculously high rates.  Otto made the following comment and my response to him is after the jump…

Otto:  Guns are banned in Australia, and there are very few shootings here.  Maybe because bad people don’t have to try very hard in Chicago to get guns, seems like it’s only a short drive to get one.  And maybe there are lots left over from the Al Capone era.  Chicago is world famous for gun violence.

Shooting Sports and Cub Scouts

Well, Cub Scout Day Camp is finally over. Those are three exhausting days! They’re a lot of fun, though.

Unfortunately my voice is over, too. I ran the BB gun range and while there were a few scheduling and logistics surprises (It’s day camp – what do you expect), I think it was a successful week.  The boys who have been shooting before came out shooting better and the boys who hadn’t shot before learned an important life-skill. Doctors’ Role in Stopping Gun Violence – The Atlantic #tcot #TTAG #2A

Doctors’ Role in Stopping Gun Violence – Iulia Filip – The Atlantic

Speaking as someone who’s spent 30 years doing clinical research, a big part of the problem is that they know this isn’t a “health care” issue.  Is violence in general a public health crisis?  What about crime, in general?  What about the moral decline that leads to all this crime and violence?  Is defensive gun use included in this so-called public health crises?  If so, do they count all uses or just when shots are actually fired?  A good model should take the latter into account.

If you want to call it a crisis, good analysis should include Continue reading

Why the left’s preoccupation with Redskins? #tcot

And at the end, he finally gets down to the real issue.  Compliance.  Non-compliance MUST be destroyed.  If people get the idea they do NOT have to follow political correctness, then people will realize that the power of Progressives is really an illusion.

Ignore the man behind the curtain!

Why the left’s preoccupation with Redskins?.

Welcome to Mr. Obama’s immigration legacy! #tcot

Medical staff warned: Keep your mouths shut about illegal immigrants or face arrest | Fox News.

You really have to read this one to believe it.  This is not an easy read, but you need to read it if you want to truly understand how little Barack Obama values human life.
